i collect a lot of online tutorials, there is a special folder in my "favorites" box devoted to online tutorials. over the past year i have printed scores of projects and they have been wholly disorganized and strewn about my sewing supplies. i've had the idea of making a "project book" for some time and monday night i made it a reality. with a stack of some plastic protective sheets and a 2 1/2" thick binder i created a nice no-fuss way to organize and store project ideas. on the inside the plastic sheets have the full instructions and any pattern pieces i've created and the interior pockets allow me to include thinner store bought patterns. i also devoted a plastic sheet to the sewing examples i created in my sewing class, this way i can have a handy reference to something like how to sew french seams.

i've been wanting to attempt more embroidery projects lately. my friend laura gave me some darling mermaid patterns, in addition i bought a ton of patterns at the quilt show earlier this year. i had mentioned this to my mom and she kindly bought me some flour sack towels to embroider on. last night i washed them all and this morning i found a post on sew, mama, sew about doing a "sew-along sampler", what could be more perfect?!?!

lastly, i found this picture on my friend laura's computer and think it's too funny and random. i think it was taken last summer, where i have no idea. i miss my little bother, even if he does bite.

once again, a holiday approaches and i see a million projects i want to make... here are the top three on my to do list:
fabric easter baskets for the little ones in my life

adorable easter eggs with secret pockets to go in the easter baskets

and these delicious looking cupcake pops, i think done in easter colors, these would be a fun addition to the baskets.

now all i need is time to make these things...

i saw this post yesterday on design*sponge, and immediately felt inspired to create a lunch tote of my own. however, i have a mini fridge at my office to myself, so a lunch tote isn't really necessary... but that doesn't mean those near and dear to me can't benefit (jasmine?).

i've already decided to change a few things; i'll use mini pockets instead of the elastic, snaps instead of buttons, and, instead of deconstructing a tote bag, i'll just make my own. i'm starting to feel my sewing machine calling my name again, i'm sure i'll be crafting up a storm in no time. and, perhaps, opening an etsy shop???
just another thing i want to make for myself after the holdiays (found here)

one of my favorite blogs how about orange regularly posts craft tutorials, and today there is a great tutorial for a crate slipcover. i need to make some of these quick for my craft supplies....

if anyone wants some, let me know after the holidays... or maybe you'll get them for christmas...
