once again, a holiday approaches and i see a million projects i want to make... here are the top three on my to do list:

fabric easter baskets for the little ones in my life

adorable easter eggs with secret pockets to go in the easter baskets

and these delicious looking cupcake pops, i think done in easter colors, these would be a fun addition to the baskets.

now all i need is time to make these things...

ooh la la

i saw this post yesterday on design*sponge, and immediately felt inspired to create a lunch tote of my own. however, i have a mini fridge at my office to myself, so a lunch tote isn't really necessary... but that doesn't mean those near and dear to me can't benefit (jasmine?).

i've already decided to change a few things; i'll use mini pockets instead of the elastic, snaps instead of buttons, and, instead of deconstructing a tote bag, i'll just make my own. i'm starting to feel my sewing machine calling my name again, i'm sure i'll be crafting up a storm in no time. and, perhaps, opening an etsy shop???

little by little

a few things i worked on last night...

these were made from small squares of japanese fabrics i had purchased. i had bought a bunch of buttons used for making fabric covered buttons, cut some circles, and voila! i plan on buying some magnets and attaching them to the backs. these should be a nice small gift for one of my friends...

some more embroidery, this will be a drawstring backpack for little john.

tres awesome!

spoiler alert!

the question that has been plaguing me the last few weeks (what crafty thing can i make for the gentlemen in my life??) has been answered!!!

mom don't look!!!!!

one of my favorite blogs how about orange regularly posts craft tutorials, and today there is a great tutorial for a crate slipcover. i need to make some of these quick for my craft supplies....

if anyone wants some, let me know after the holidays... or maybe you'll get them for christmas...

on the first day of christmas..

christmas is coming and i'm slowly amassing and sorting my present projects. here are a few pic's of projects.

this is the fabric from the previous post, can you guess what they'll be??

last sunday jazz and i went to ikea, and i finally got to look through the fabric they sell by the yard. i was able to find this gem. i am making some drawstring backpacks for the little girls in my family, i plan on embroidering their first initials on the front, probably in a bright pink... (i'll be making one for little john too, but in a green print fabric. pic's coming soon).

in continuation of my quest for an (almost) all homemade christmas i also plan on making my own christmas wrap and gift tags. i bought lotta prints a few months ago and have been wanting to try lino printing ever since. my friend robin and i went to the local art supply and picked up the tools i would need. i haven't tried anything yet, i'm still sketching designs... but you can see robin's example...

two of my newest projects...

a scarfette found on the blog resurrection fern, i used a handspun yarn found at my yarn store (alamitos bay yarn company) the color is called "yosemite".

fingerless gloves, the pattern is from my blog crush melissa at tinyhappy.

and the other night i was checking out the fabric i've accumulated...

i have some ideas for the fabrics. the top left fabric is joel dewberry, it might make a cute cage cover for tutu.  the lotus flower print and the fabric above it will be used to make these pillows (the large form). i want to make shams with the purple kokka ( top middle). the fabric below it, optic blossom by amy butler,  i want to use on a furniture redo. i have no idea what i'll do with the birds on gold fabric, but it was too cute not to buy. the large squares are napkins from anthropologie, i thought they'd make cute pillows.
so many projects and ideas!!

dare i?

i'm feeling very inspired  for this holiday season's gift giving. thanks to my sewing lessons last semester and my addiction to craft blogs i think i'm going to attempt the dare to make it challenge at craftstylish. i'm realizing this is a slightly impossible task with people like my cousin nick and for the payne side gift exchange. however, i'm more or less aiming for 75% of my gifts to be hand made. i'm thinking of things like these fabric bowls, these felted nesting bowls, lots of embroidery, and so much more.
in other news, my invite came through from ravelry and i think my first project will be sweater vest, its really cute and you knit it on circular needles. i still have to post pictures of my newest creations (a quick pair of fingerless gloves and scarflet).

these are some of the gifts i made for mothers day:

the aprons were for my grandmothers, i found the pattern online (i'll post the link when i find it again)

and for my godmother, a homemade silhouette of her daughter Emilee. this was so simple and i already had all the materials i needed (minus the frame). here are the directions, i can't wait to make more! i found all the gift wrap stuff at target, i plan on going back and buying all of this wrapping paper, it's really pretty.
