et, voila!

i finally finished making the quilt top for emilee's quilt. i'm so happy with how it turned out! most of my sunday afternoon was spent cutting, laying out, and assembling the sashing and squares. now i have to make the back side, i think i'll do rectangles of the left over mermaid fabric with the same white fabric as the sashing. once the back is done i just need to assemble the back, batting, and top and bind the quilt.

the quilt is now almost big enough to cover a full size bed, i'm pretty sure i can adjust the pattern to fit a queen bed. i already have fabrics picked out to make the next one (which might be a birthday present)....

Running out of superlatives!! I think its in the genes Grandma Matthews was an amazing quilter. I love the mermaid fabric.
